How to Optimize Window’s for the best performance


Whenever we purchase a new system , its performance decrease with the passage of time, due to several reason like large number of program being installed in our system, hard disk files get separated, Log files and Temporary file use lots of memoryspace. As well as start up  also take long time due to large number of programs booting on start up and services also.

Browsers also get slow because of large amount of Temporary files, history, cookies, download history and  form history saved in browser.So that optimization of window’s is must for the best performance.

1  Defragment your hard drive
We advise you to do defragmentation once per month. When your computer is new, files are usually kept together in one part and at one place. As the time goes computer ages, you delete many files and add new ones. So files get divided up into chunks and stored into numerous places. As a result, your computer can slow down and take long time to open files.

While doing regularly, the defragmentation process allows the computer to reformat its system with file blocks, bringing all commonly used files together also freeing up space. After defragmentation, you will see that your files opening faster and your computer flowing better.

“Start” > “All Programs” > “Accessories” > “System Tools” > “Disk Defragmenter”

2 Uninstall Unused Programs – Removing all the programs you don’t use from the list also increase the system performance. As we examine, that we download many programs yet we use then very rarely. So as to uninstalling them and keeping their setup saved on hard disk . This will help you to save your time as well as boost system performance.

3 Update Windows – Window updates can improve your computer’s performance because Microsoft constantly works to release updates for its windows and other products. If you want your system to take automatically windows update then follow the below steps.
1 Click on “Start” Button
2 Open “Control Panel“ then select “System and Security”.
3 Under System and Security, find “Windows Update
4 On the left hand side of tab there is “System Setting” . You can set here Install updates automatically (recommended). As well as you can set time by Install new updates on which day at what time.

4 Remove Unnecessary Start-up Programs and Services – Our goal is to increase the system performance. But what if our system starts after 5 minutes. To reduce the system start-up time we have to disable all the unnecessary start-up programs and services which start automatically whenever system turn on.
To disable start up program
1. Click on the START button
2. Select RUN
3. Type “msconfig“, without the double quotes and hit Enter key.
4  This is open System Configuration. Now select the Start-up tab .
5  Click on “Disable all”.
Disable all doesn’t mean that your program are removed from system .It only for stopping the program to run at start-up .

1.  Click on the START button
2.  Select RUN

5 . Click on “Disable all


Note-When you’ve finished, click Apply and you’ll be prompted to restart your computer.

5 Switch between windows faster– Disabling this effect is really easy. It will speed up your computer and make it more responsive.
1 Type SystemPropertiesPerformance in the Start menu search field and press Enter;
2 Select to the Visual Effects tab.
3 Now uncheck “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing”.
4 Click on Apply and Ok.

6 Customize Appearance Setting – To optimize the appearance setting and adjust the best performance for your windows to speed up you system follow the steps below –
1 Open Run prompt and type “sysdm.cpl” without quotes.
2 Select Advanced tab;
3 Then press the Settings button in the Performance section;
4 A new window will open. Select the Adjust for best performance radio button in Visual Effect.Customize Appearance Setting

7 Customize folder and search options– In order to customize the folder and search option we can disable some features. This will save system resources and direct contribute in increasing system performance. To customize this follow the steps
1 Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
2 Select View tab;
3 Now Disable the following:
– Hide extensions for known file types;
– Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items;
– Display file size information in folder tips;
– Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in colour

8 Disk cleanup – In order to reduce the number of unnecessary files on your hard disk then use Disk Cleanup. By clicking on Disk cleanup it will remove all temporary files , empty recycle bin, Downloaded program files, Thumbnails etc.
1 Open Disk Cleanup by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking Disk Cleanup.
2 Drive Selection dialog box appears, select the hard disk drive that you want to clean up, and then click OK.


9 Update your latest drivers – Checks for the updates for drivers also. Taking updates for drivers also increase system performance and make your system drivers up to date .
